Dear all,

I am planning to do a 7 day trek from manali to spiti starting on 25.th of july (time and route flexible though). Would borrow a tent and sleeping bag (400 rs day - but I am sure that can be negotiated) from a tour operator in manali but no porters, cooks, guides, etc and carry a backpack.
Looking for a travel Buddy who is up for a one week trek. You can contact me here or via Facebook (Florian Fa). Looking forward to hear from you!

Best,
Florian

I have heard that the main dome at the Taj is currently covered in plastic sheeting and scaffolding and will remain like this for quite some time.
Can anyone who has visited recently confirm this ?
Thanks

Hi all,

I am planning a trip to india this august/september. I've timed everything to attend a class by the Dali Lama in Dharamasla that ends on September 1st. I fly out of New Dehli on the 10th. While researching what to do after this, I came across a post about the spiti valley in northern Himchal Pradesh. It seems like a magical place, and I'd love to go. My question is - do I have time to make it up there and down to ND for my departing flight?

Things to consider:

We are on a bit of a…

Ladakh

Coming from Nepal I will go to Ladakh in second half Oct.
a) what will be the latest date to arrive in Ladakh/Leh (weatherwise). Which temperatures are to be expected at that time?
b) how much time will it need from Nepalese border to Leh (by public Transport/busses) ?
b) can train be an alternative?
c) how about flying ( my very last option): will I have to go to Airport Dehli resp. 'all goes via Dehli' or is there any direct flight from ???where??? to Leh?

d) I think of heading from Leh to…

Hello. I am spending 10d/9n in Kerala at the beginning of November. I don't want to move around too much since it is right before a long, complicated work trip. I know that I will stay a couple of days in Fort Kochi, 3 night at the Amritapuri Ashram in Kollam and will need need to fly out of Cochin airport. That leaves 4 days for some trekking and plantation visits but I am not sure of the right place to go. Advice?
