High above Zemabawk, some 11km from Zarkawt, the peaceful Tourist Home has great new rooms and older, mustier cottages. However the hilltop setting is idyllic and Aizawl’s best viewpoint is just a 10-minute stroll away. It’s worth the Rs.

Resplendently green but with its name painted over, Hotel Tropicana is right at Sumkuma Point roundabout. The better double rooms are quite cosy but look at a few before deciding as some have no views and smell musty.
