Hi, what do you think of this book of Mumbai walks:
Fiona Fernandez, Ten Heritage Walks of Mumbai
Or would you recommend another book?
I am very interested in street life and social scene and less in architectural and historical finesse or Shah Rukh Khan's home.
I know that I could/should gather my walks-info from 200 internet sources, but am lazy and would love to hear that the book is useful and carryable - if you really think so.
On a sidenote: Is there a bookshop in Colaba that could…
As soon as they start thinking that 320USD is a fair price for a single run on a domestic airline in India, we'll watch for the rest to fail when no one shows up.
On the tiniest of upsides, it'll keep the predators from over-charging when the next one falls.
Aviation ministry may cap economy class air fares at Rs 20,000
I'm heading to Southern India this February and March for about 4 weeks. I'd like to join a group tour of Tamil Nadu and/or Kerala, preferably leaving from Chennai. Can anyone recommend a good tour operator that offers reasonably priced tours?
Thanks in advance!
I'm due to be taking an extended trip to India in the new year. However I've just started taking an anti-depressant called Sertraline. Sadly my GP is only able to prescribe three months' worth of the drug (any more than that and apparently he would get into trouble as he would be seen as prescribing to someone abroad which is not allowed). As such I shall either have to: a) cut my trip short; or b) try and obtain some medication in India (which my GP says might be possible). Does anyone have…
Hello! I am looking to do steady yoga and live the full ashram experience, with karma yoga as well. Not a very expensive place but preferrably still comfortable. any suggestions?
And If anyone has been there , any recommendations for restaurants, other places to stay and activities would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
Hello, I wonder if I should visit Mumbai or not for around 5 days around new year. Maybe you could give me hints. I have been to India several times, but never to Mumbai. I speak very basic general Hindi (not Mumbai-tested).
What I like:
- atmospheric walks and drifting in busy walkable (not claustrophobic) streets + neighborhoods; I use Google Maps in smartphone for navigation and finding back
- testing interesting foods + drinks, even moreo so when seating is there and oil is not (Imodium…
I'm heading over to India next month for a while. I've got my 6 month multiple entry visa and I'd like to see as much as possible and include a trip to Sri Lanka and Nepal.
I've been to India before and stayed in some decent, clean, tidy and cheap guesthouses but the thing that was lacking was atmosphere. Traveling SE Asia I encountered the same thing, great value for money but I missed the social side of staying in hostels (but didn't miss sharing a room with 10 other sweaty guys).
Me n my friend are planning to drive from Mumbai to Goa on 28th / 29th Dec and back on 1st / 2nd Jan. We are looking for 2-3 people to split the fuel. Any one interested to join in?
Please msg asap.
We are going to spend a few days in Mumbai in January and are curious about Bollywood. There seem to be many tour operators and it seem to be a quite expensive experience. Is it worth the cost and time? and what tour operator and tour do you recommend? and what to avoid? Thanks.
