Due to a long story, I just realized I don't have time to apply for the traditional Indian visa through the consulate where I live. Luckily, I just caught up on the news about e-visas, which seem to enable me to apply online while keeping my passport with me at home, then get the visa stamped in upon arrival. 1 carry-on @ 7kg + 1 laptop bag or ladies purse.
If you change your mind, Rs500 for the first 10kg checked-in, Rs750 for 15kg.
Other airlines are expected to follow suit.
