Do i need travel permit for Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura?

Hi,
how is the actual situation? I am a German passport holder. Do i need a travel permit for Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura?
If i need it for Arunachal Pradesh, do you know if i can get it together with the visa in Germany or only in India?
If a permit needed for Arunachal Pradesh, is it possible to fly to Lilaburi (Assam), take a bus or cab to Itanagar and leave Itanagar to Tezpur in Assam?
And how is it with the other states?
Thank you very much in advance.

chennai hotel or Maamallapuram late at night flight

hi- My question is, I am flying into Chennai in a bit over a week, all AirAsia flights from Thailand land at 10pm, so I could not get in earlier. I am traveling as a solo female and I have been to India years ago. I am debating on booking a hotel for my first night in Chennai, since I get in so late. Or, what I would like to do is get out of Chennai immediately and head to Maamallapuram, should I try to get there the night I fly in or go there the next day? I met a couple at the visa center…

Delhi area, March 2015

I'm flying into Delhi with a friend March 5, wandering around, will see Dharamsala, flying home March 25. First trip to India. We're in our late 60s, active experienced travelers, carrying relatively small (<25L) packs.
We're looking for a pleasant place to acclimate for a few days, hopefully within 3-4 hours of Delhi, maybe by train.
Any suggestions about this, or our trip in general, appreciated.
Thanks.

the "new goa"

Hello

I spent six months in india a few years ago and I'm heading back, but as my situation has changed, i'm only able to spend three weeks there this time. I'm planning to go with the flow, with just a quick trip to the andaman islands as my only plan. Apart from that, I am going to make my way to chennai from mumbai 9 or 10 days with a few days in goa/gokarna on the way. I'm looking for a few days in the hippiest "goa 20 years ago" place on the east coast. i'm not interested in comfort or…

Hiking in Manali or Leh

Hey,
I'm planning to be in Manali and Leh for two nights each. I'm an inexperienced hiker but I would like to hike in either one or both of these places. I don't want to hire a guide and would like suggestions on which place has the most accessible paths and great views for a solo hiker. Thanks!

Prohibition winning?

Another take on the prohibition argument. So, what will they do if they try to get rid of permits altogether? Kerala has mostly folded, Maharashtra is trying to hold on, and this is front page news in Gujarat...

Visas and places of interest

Hi all, I'm heading out to India in June for 10 days, I've been trying to apply for a visa online but can't see, to make a payment. Is this the best way to get a visa for a uk citizen? Also I fly into Delhi and plan to do the golden triangle. I'm wondering if 10 days is enough and if there is anywhere in the close proximity to visit? I enjoy culture, more off the Beaton track and national parks. Also how easy is doing the golden triangle? Tour or local train. Thanks in advance x

Multiple entry visa in India

Hi all,

I'm aware of the "on arrival visa" which lasts 30 days, one entry, twice a year. But as I would like to stay in India longer than that I was wondering if and how can I apply for a longer visa? Like 3 months?
Thank you!
