Fabulous five-star luxury set in peaceful bamboo grounds located 4km before Khatiya gate, just outside the village of Mocha. Buses to Khatiya all stop here.
Uninspiring rooms are basic, but this is the best-value budget option. It’s 300m left of Khatiya Gate.
Only recommendable because of its dirt-cheap dorms; unless you can get serious discounts on the shabby doubles, look elsewhere. It’s 500m before Khatiya Gate.
Grand, spacious cottages with TV and DVD player are set among trees (one actually has a tree growing up through the roof of the veranda) and face onto a well-kept garden with swing chairs, a lawn and a thatched gazebo.
Large, clean cottage rooms are bright and airy and set around a lovely, if slightly overgrown, garden. There’s a gazebo-covered campfire and a bar, and Raheel, the manager, is very knowledgeable.
Close to Kanha Safari Lodge, this two-property resort has simple, well-kept rooms in the small hotel with larger cottages in the new retreat next door. There’s a pool and a massage centre.
This MP Tourism property is the only hotel actually inside the core zone and is the place to stay at Kanha.
