Opposite KFC, this phenomenally popular Kolkata institution offers fizzing sizzlers, great chelo -kebabs (barbequed fingers of spiced, ground-lamb) and beers quaffed from pewter tankards. Waiters wear Rajasthani costumes in an atmosphere redolent of a mood-lit 1970s steakhouse.

    Vital to turn up early in the evening

    engelard recommends this,

    Quite a crowd forms outside, awaiting tables after about 6.30-7pm. Lots of local families dining, though often on burgers and chips and the like! Pretty good Indian dishes when we were there, and not overpriced.

    Sizzling good!

    A great place to get a decent 'sizzler' both vegetarian and meat. Can get very busy due to it's popularity. Great atmosphere.
