Reliable curries, piled-high biriyanis (Rs100) and vampire-repelling garlic chicken-balls served inexpensively in a well air-conditioned if none-too stylish local restaurant. Cheaper options next door.

    Kolkata is just the heaven for foodies. There are food joints for all budgets. If you have Rs.25, you can get a chicken leg in bowl of soup with 2 chapatis in Camac Street, Dalhousie Square and in Sector V during office hours. You can get Chinese breakfast direct from the hot-pot at Territy bazar at Central Kolkata from 6 - 8 a.m. Historic Parantha & Mutton curry in Gol Bari near Shyambazar of North Kolkata. Authentic Chinese dishes in South Tangra Road (China Town). World famous biriyani in Shiraz, Park Circus, central Kolkata. Prawn cutlets in Allens of Bhupen Bose Avenue, N/Kolkata. Mutton Chop & cutlet at Chacha's shop opposite Vivekananda's Ancestral Home on Bidhan Sarani, N/Kolkata. Just a few steps from there is famous Sandesh (sweets) shop of Nakur. They serves unparallal taste of Bengali sweets. Bhim Nag is also famous for Sandesh, they are at Bowbazar & M.G.Road near Howrah bridge. For authentic Bengali cuisine, come to Kasturi, Radhuni, Prince in Mirza Ghalib Street (Near New Market). Nizam is few steps from there, inventor of Chicken/Mutton Rolls. Aminia is also in that zone, serves lip-smacking Mughlai cuisine. For South Indian menu, try Anand on Chittaranjan Avenue and Raj on Monoharpukur Road. If you like to taste Kolkatar Cha (Tea) come to Radubabu's Tea shop at Janak Road beside Lake Market.

    Beside all these, there are at least 50 restaurants in different location of the city, who serves multi cuisine delicacies.
