Just few kilometers from here starts Siachen Glacier, the highest battlefield in the world where Indian and Pakistani troops have been fighting for years. But in this area there are almost no sign of conflict. Nubra valley is peaceful place, full of flowers and friendly people.

      According to the legend many years ago there was a big lake filling valley.  Great Indian Buddhist yogi, Mahasiddha Naropa dry up this lake and strange, sediment rock formation appeared.
