Indian visa on arrival scheme to be announced!

The long-awaited VoA scheme is due to be announced tomorrow with 40+ nationalities being eligible for Indian visa on arrival. The choice of nationalities seems quite haphazard. If the information on the website below is correct, i.a. U.S., Australia, Israel, Germany, Japan, Ukraine and Russia are in, while most EU states are out (including i.a. UK, Italy, France, Poland). I wonder what were the criteria?

Then I tried with our normal telephone number but failed again. This is not the first time (around the 20th) that I book flight ticket by Makemytrip but never had problem with it. Maybe you have an idea what could happen. Please help. Thanks in…

For those worried about consuming street food...

A lab test performed on Mumbai pav bhaji, taken from a roadside stall:
http://www.theguardian.com/cities/2014/nov/26/more-than-a-taste-test-just-how-hygienic-is-mumbais-street-food

results of the test were encouraging, but the fact that,

"According to the Public Health Association, only 53% of Indians wash their hands with soap after defecating; 38% do so before eating and only 30% before preparing food."

less so.
Wash your hands, take reasonable care and enjoy the food is what I take…

Short visit from Delhi to Agra - train v road

Hello all.

I'm travelling in a group of 5 adults and in January we'll be in Delhi for 2 nights before we fly back to Europe.

We don't arrive in Delhi Airport until 8pm on our first night and then we fly back to Europe 2 days later around 10am.

We would like to go to Agra primarily to visit the Taj Mahal, but also visit as much as the other sights as time permits.

We have done a fair bit of research into the various options and are now considering the following options:-
