Hi everyone,
My name is Maor and i'm from israel.
I'm planning to travel in India from April to a duration of at least 3 months, and i know that during this time of the year it is very HOT in the south of India, and many websites have recommended to me to travel in the north of India in this season.

So these are my questions:

Where to go for a first time visit to India, and is a week enough time?

I am thinking of taking a trip to India, from the USA. This will be my first time there. I have a few questions. Is a week too little time, as I would lose at least 1 day traveling each way leaving only about 5 days for seeing the sites? Sadly, right now I cannot allocate more time to the trip. What do you feel is a good part of the country to visit for a first trip? Thirdly, when is a good time of the year to visit? Also, this will be a solo trip.

Exercising in public

It is appropriate to workout in public spaces (parks) in India? Is it normal behavior in India to be planking, squatting, and jumping in a public space?

I will be visiting New Delhi, Agra, and Varanasi, if there is region specific levels of acceptedness.

Amount of time to budget for Mumbai, Goa and Bangalore

I travel to Asia each year in February and this year, I plan to spend about 12 to 15 days in India before flying on to Bangkok (and onward). I've been to India once before but not to the south. I'm going to fly into Mumbai for a few days, fly on to Goa for a few days and then on to Bangalore (I'll leave India from there). I would appreciate it if a few of you experts could advise me on how much time I should spend in each of the 3 cities. Also, if you think I should use trains or buses between…

An Indian wedding

Hi, there,
I am Katia from Bulgaria, Europe.
On January I am flying to India for my friends wedding. They are Christians from Kerala but after the wedding they will live in Europe, their parents-in Qatar and Dubai. I am very close to the family of the bride. So, I want to prepare something good for the bride and the groom, but I don't know what is better to be - a present or money. If it will be a present what kind of it is the best, if it'll be money how much to be. Which part of the ceremony I…

CHADAR TREK JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2015

Hello,

I wish to do the famed Chadar Trek in the second half of January 2015. I would rather I did it solo, but I have certain apprehensions about the same. I have previously trekked in the Sagarmatha and Kanchenjunga region, but have never trekked on snow/ice/frozen rivers before and I cannot swim. How real is the risk of falling through the ice there? What all should I be wary or mindful of? What would be a reasonable time to accomplish this trek in and how should I prepare my gear? Any…
