I am looking at a flight that lands in Kerala on Christmas day. I know that the area is more Christian than the rest of the country, but will I still be able to get a taxi to a hotel, and find something to eat?
I've got a good 4 day off from work in October. And even tho its a short time, I need to getaway and hence would like your opinion of what place I could go to? Please don't suggest lonavala, panchgani, alibaug, mahabaleshwar etc. Having lived in Mumbai forever. Of course I've already been there haha
I was thinking of Gokarna but I'm not quite sure now. I don't want to travel more than 7 hours. Hereby giving me more time to explore.
Can anyone anyone be of any help? Please. Thanks.
I'll have 14 full days in India in April. I've been there before, and seen most of Rajastan and Agra. This time I want to see Varanasi and do a tiger safari, since I missed it The last time. Also I would like to do some trekking. If it's in Sikkhim or Ladakh doesn't matter, but I don't know whats best in April.
Can anyone help with an itinerary including Varanasi, tigers and Himalaya trekking for a 14 day itinerary?
I've strung some free days together and have from 23 Sep to 13 Oct free (3 weeks) and am looking at various destinations, Goa included. I realise it's the tailend of monsoon but I can keep an eye on weather and what with the e-visa now available, I can make it a last minute decision.
My concern is finding a beach / location that has not totally shut down for the monsoon. I'm not looking for party but do need a choice of places to eat and have a drink. I hear most of the beach shacks close for…

Ooty or Ootacamund (Udhagamandalam), being a british's holiday spot, is ironically kepyt little tidy. The main city is very crowded and the vehicles parked by side, the people and the animals makes the wide road in to a narrow one.
Visit Pykara lake and waterfalls, Mudumalai Tiger Reserve that are at the outskirts, but very much peaceful and calm, unlike others attractions like, Boat house where you may see just people and noises.
The whole place is filled with chocolate outlets, restaurants…
maybe the wrong website to be asking this question haha,, but just seeing which guide book other travellers prefer for India. We took out LP and Rough Guide from library both are not very recent (2013 best we could find) - RG seemed to be a little more in depth - do others agree?
Last week a ten year visa for Canadians was announced and the details of it are posted on the Consulate General, High Commission and BLS websites. I've been in contact with all three to try and figure out how to apply but have been told that even though it's been announced it's not actually in effect yet (even though the press release says that it's "being introduced with immediate effect").
I'm wondering if anyone else has looked into this and you've had better luck than me applying…
