A friend of mine is going to India and was asking me for tour suggestions. Since the last time I was in India was 15 years ago, and traveling independently, I couldn't be much help. I thought I'd post her question here and see what others have to say that's more current. Thanks!

"Can you recommend small/independent tourism companies specializing in North India (Delhi, Agra, Rajasthan)? Looking to arrange something with my parents, so ~2-week small-group and/or private tour agency that's not…

Hi All,

Myself and my parner are heading to North India for 25 days in October, flying in/out of Delhi.

After reading several posts and researching other sites I think the below itinerary sounds reasonable. However I wanted to run it by this group as advice is always invaluable. If anyone thinks we are perhaps fitting too much in or missing something off then please let me know. We are happy to travel by best transport recommended. Thank you.

Day 1 - 2 (2x days): Delhi (acclimatise and…

Hi everyone,

I'm just looking for a little bit of advice. I'm planning to go to India followed by Sri Lanka for a total of 2 months mid October - mid December time this year. I know I've plenty of time to thoroughly research everything but thought it would be useful to get a bit of forum feedback.

Currently planning to buy from London into Delhi - first exploring Rajasthan & golden triangle (Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Udaipur & Agra), hopefully then across to Varanasi, before going down to…

I’ve clocked a few bits and pieces recently about how Indian visas are changing, so have been doing a little pre-holiday planning digging, and am slightly confused.

The Trailfinders Indian visa page mentions both e-visas and regular visas. The e-visa link on the Trailfinders site goes to indianvisaonline, where it’s stated that nationals of several countries, including the UK, are eligible for an e-visa, provided they’re only going over for a holiday. However, back on the Trailfinders site…

Hi Travellers!
I'll be on a one month trip in India in a few days and really want to see the Himalaya mountains. I'm NOT a climber, and for health reasons I'm not able to climb so my wish is about suggestions for places in India from where I'm able to see Mt. Everest or other parts of the Himalayas from below.
Thank you in advance for all your suggestions..

I am an avid photographer, and wish to visit Ladakh for the annual Ladakh Festival in September as well as see the Brokpa peoples...plus other cultural tribes in the area... Has anyone travelled in Ladakh and had the opportunity to observe these peoples? Would it be better to get a homestay or hotel in Leh...and then arrange for travel to Kargil village and surrounding villages. I would be coming in from Canada.
