My girlfriend and I are landing in Kochi on the 5th of jan and leaving to Nepal by plane from Delhi on the 2nd of feb. We are planning to spend as little as possible and are looking for some advice on:

  • Cheapest sleeping options, preferably not shared rooms.
  • Cheapest methods of travel and how/when to book them.
  • Any other tips on spending the bare minimum :)

Thank you all!

Hi everyone,
My husband and I will fly to India on the 4th tome for 3 weeks (in October).
We are planning on spending a few days in Delhi-Varanasi-Bohdgaya-Kolkata (puja durga)-Darjeeling-Sikkim-kolkata (fly to BKK).
We will have 7 days in Darjeeling and Sikkim. Do you think it's enough time to spend in Darjeeling+ see some of Sikkim?
Where would you recommend we should visit in Sikkim?
We are looking for beautiful villages, with peacefull monastries. Big cities are also good but I don't think it's…

Hello,

I am flying to Hong Kong in mid-September with a 15 hour stopover in New Dehli and I am hoping to take the chance to see some of the city. I have two questions.

  1. With such a short time what should I try and see? I expect to have from 11 in the morning to about 9 in the evening free.

  2. From my research I think the best visa will be an e-Tourist visa is that correct? Does anyone know how long it will take to process and the cost for a UK citizen?

Thanks for your help.

I am thinking of treating myself. The cheapest room in the taj is about £150. Has anybody stayed there in these rooms?

Hi all - I am planning my honeymoon (which will take place 9 months after the actual event, but whatever!) I could use some expert advice on Kerala. We are going on the Golden Triangle week one, which seems like a sensible way to get a taste for India without overdoing it too much. For week two we want to turn it down a few notches and relax - hence Kerala.
We've obvs been educating ourselves on where/what/why of Kerala but can't seem to find a specific destination that would fit our needs.

Hi. I have two weeks to spend relaxing and wandering around, from Dec. 22. I would like to see local Christmas celebrations (not westernized and commercial, if such a thing exsists), some time at a nice beach, nature hikes, small towns. Any ideas of suitable areas and accomodation?

I'm planning a trip to Darjeeling and Sikkim in late October. I have a couple of unplanned nights and I'm considering spending them in either Ravangla or Pelling. Anyone who's been to both – which would you recommend and why?

Hi. Am looking for a place to hangout Dec to Feb thats not too cold (ie not in the Himalayas or hill station). I have a desire to be in nature and India at that time. Also I would like to do this cheaper, but still having a nice place to stay.

I am OCI (overseas citizen of India) and so should be able to get entry into National Parks cheaply, so am open to that, but often accommodation there is expensive, noisey and not really good for a long stay. I do not particually desire to be in a NP, but…
