Later this month I will have 13 hours in Bangalore between flights, so I thought of seeing a movie. The Rex Theatre seems to be near a hotel that I booked for the day, but I wondered if there are others nearby worth checking out as well. So, I'm looking for movie & restaurant suggestions in the general area of our hotel (Brigade Rd. between MG and Residency Rd.). I haven't been to India in a while, but other movies I've seen there before and liked were My Name is Khan and Three Idiots. Anything…

HAMPI
I had a two days trip in Hampi and it was unexpectedly relaxing! It’s a place where you can just recline, soak in the nature and while away time and still not feel you have wasted time. You can have two very different kinds of experiences here. One where you can get in touch with history and the other where you can enjoy nothingness. It has ancient ruins, temples, boulders and lake where you can boulder climb, boat, swim, cliff jump, sea the sunrise at hanuman temple. FYI, Hampi has been a…

Hey, so myself and a couple of friends are hoping to walk from Naggar to Kasol via the Chandrakani Pass and Malana and my question is about accommodation. I know that there are guesthouses at Malana, Rashol and Kasol, but what about up until then? I'm looking into buying a tent and will do so if necessary, but does anyone know if there is tea house accommodation between Naggar and Malana? If so, what are the chances of it being full? Someone mentioned a tea house near the pass but I can't find…

Well, they do, and said so yesterday.

But the Director General of Civil Aviation thought it was as stupid idea and said NO! Among other things ;)

Wonder what they'll try next?

I'm looking to camp at a lake which has a mountain in the backdrop. Is this feasible at any of the Himalayan lakes? All of those I've found so far seem to be restricted to day-trips. If not, are there any such possibilities in the southern half of India? What I'm searching for is an isolated lake with the faces of a high mountain rising around it, probably something like the Tsongmo lake in Sikkim. Any help appreciated.

Does anybody have current information (availability / rates) on parcels sent by sea / surface mail from India to Europe and North America?
If there's no information re. India, does anybody have any information on parcels sent by sea / surface mail from neighboring countries: Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand (Kuwait or U.A.E.)?

Thanks.
