I applied for a VISA via BLS International on Monday, now it's Wednesday and my tracking status says "ready for dispatch". First of all I did not want my passport to be sent via mail/courier, also I doubt the Visa process would take 2-3 days. I tried to contact BLS by phone (office in Warsaw/Poland) but they never answer it. What do you think?
My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to India for around 6 weeks in Feb/March. We're planning on flying into Mumbai and flying home from Delhi, essentially focusing on the North. Our rough, tentative itinerary is as follows:
Arrive Mumbai, train to Goa
Goa (4 nights)
Flight to Varanasi
Varanasi (4 nights)
Overnight train to Agra
Agra (1 Night)
Jaipur (2 nights)
Overnight train to Jaisalmer
Jaisalmer (3 nights)
Jodhpur (3 nights)
Udaipur (4 nights)
Flight to Amritsar…
does anyone of you know which days there are ferries from colcata to the andaman islands? Is there a ferry plan online available? Am austrian citizen and am planning to go there in around Dec 2016...
And has anyone done this journey already?
Thanks for your advise, Georg.
My wife and I are experienced and strong trekkers who would like to complete the Green Lake trek in December. We are only looking for minimum help as we prefer to carry our own gear for the challenge. We would be looking to leave from Lachen on Dec 19 and complete the trek in 8 days. I am looking for a company who can provide a guide only and help with trekking permits. Has anyone here had any experiences with a similar situation in Sikkim?
Me and my partner are flying out to India in 2 weeks time. We've been going back and forth on our route a bit and have a general plan, but are starting to think we're cramming too much into one month (we only have a 1 month e-visa).
Im aware that it will be quite an intense/fast-paced trip, but could you tell me if it's completely unrealistic? We are willing to skip Goa to free up another 2 days, and have left 5 days as a contingency.
Kochi - 2 Nights
Alleppey - 1 Night
Periyar - 2…
I'm a 22 year old guy planning to visit the North East in the first week of October. Currently I'm thinking of doing Meghalaya. Staying in one of those home stays in the jungle close to Cherrapunjee. But that's me playing safe as I've been there already. Open to changes. Would love to have company and to go a little offbeat.
Does anybody have any first hand information on the present situation in Srinagar? I hope to visit for a few days site seeing in early November. I would fly in and fly out and stay in a hotel in the city and don't plan to visit anywhere else in the valley. I've heard that the place is in "complete lockdown" presumably meaning nearly 24hour curfew which would make the trip pointless. And with sensible precautions, keeping clear of demonstrations etc is it safe?
I'm in India for a few months to avoid the British winter.
I've been wondering about where to spend Christmas and New Year.
My rough route means I'm most likely to be in the West Bengal/Darjeeling and Sikkim areas, however I'm open to suggestions which a are approximately nearby (Ie not Goa, Kerala, etc).
I have thought about getting down to Calcutta and then flying to the Andaman Islands - I assume prices on the Islands at that time would be quite high.
I think on balance I'd rather…
