Lonely Planet review for Sonu Chat House
A dhaba-style, basic dive, this serves reasonable South Indian fare – as well as thalis, Chinese and continental dishes.

A tad disappointing
orangesky1 does not recommend this,
I love dosas and uttapams but more importantly I love eating where locals eat. Unfortunately this place was a let down. I've eaten a lot of dosas so I feel I have enough experience to be able to say that these ones were plain boring! The food was just lacking in any flavor and the uttapams were really dry. In general eating where locals eat is a good idea but if you want southern specialties like dosas then stick to street vendors because they're a hell of a lot tastier and cheaper.

Dosas cooked before your eyes.

Every kind of dosa under the sun is served at Sonu Chat. They cook them right in front of you and so you can be sure that hygiene is not TOO bad which in Paharganj is always a plus. The Sonu Chat house special is not worth the extra rupees, I would just go for the regular masala dosa, thats what all the locals eat. Oh yes there are plenty of locals eating at Sonu Chat as well as tourists.
