Lonely Planet review for All American Diner
Make like it’s 1950s USA and head down to the cherry-red booths and bar stools of the All American, to eat stars-and-stripes classics, from buttermilk pancakes to hot dogs, and work the jukebox. Or try the Habitat’s cheap-and-cheerful food court Eatopia, with good chaat, Chinese and Indian food.

Good Fries but overall disappointed
jdpioli does not recommend this,
Went to the American Diner after seeing the ratings on this site. When arrived was not disappointed, the decor was cool and the food looked even better. We did have to get a 15 minute cab journey to the Habitat Centre but that was fine. We went for an evening meal and the mains cost between 200 - 400 Rupees which was expected. We ordered one main each, one starter to share, two soft drinks and one dessert to share. The food was nice and tasty and was a relief to eat some tasty fast food after gorging on curries and noodles for three weeks. The best bit was the home fries (which are potato wedges) and our starter which was mozzarella sticks. The place wasn't overly busy like others suggested and we got a table straight away.
Despite all this the service was lacking and what no ones mentioned in the previous reviews is that they add a 10% Service Charge a 12.5% Food and Bev Tax, a 5% other tax and another 5% Beverage Tax (wow for soft drinks this was a liberty) that bumped up our bill by 500 rupees which was just less than half the value of what we ordered. Also the chocolate silk cake we ordered had alcohol and raises in it which was not mentioned in the description. I would not be returning here despite the food being pretty good.
We left with a full stomach but overall was disappointed.

One of the finest upmarket restaurants in Delhi.

All american diner is part of a India habitat center a cultural and conventional centre. As the name suggests , it all about a fine american breakfast! Scrambled eggs with toasts and a cuppa coffee sounds like a perfect recipe for a wonderful day. Highly recommended.

Breakfast All Day

Comic book fantasy delightfully unfolds into pop art reality at the All American Diner, Delhi's answer to Riverdale's Pop Tate's. Get hyponotized watching Elvis and Marilyn shaking a leg on the wall as they give you the time of day. Groove to Pet Shop Boys or Jimi Hendrix playing on the jukebox as you decide between the Apple Caramel Cream Cheese French Toast and Blueberry Stack Pancakes. Wash it down with a Peanut Butter Malt or 1001 Dalmations (chocolate & orange smootie) as you contemplate if you dare to leave without trying the Mushrooms on Toast. Follow it up with Brownie Blast or Cheesecake, and you'll find yourself wondering how you had room for all that, as Jughead Jones does the same in a parallel universe.

Nothing matches an 'All American Diner' breakfast!
gulmohar recommends this,
American Diner offers great options for breakfast, from scrambled eggs to pancakes to bacon, and don't forget the lovely breads! The shakes are amazing and the deserts - especially the cheese cakes are simply fantastic. So yes, basically, American Diner knows how to whip up the perfect breakfast for everyone!
Expect long queues (could take you any where from 15-30 minutes to get a table), and nope they don't reserve tables over the phone either. The ambience is great with a typical american restaurant feel. They serve drinks too.
There is a jukebox, which i have yet to see anyone use, but hey, they play good music anyways.
Go to this place with your friends or family, and I bet you'll end up having a helluva good time!

Big American Breakfast, (almost) everything I've wanted
klshuman recommends this,
Good hearty breakfasts can be hard to come by in north India. As an American living in Delhi I often find myself craving big filling breakfasts, especially on those late mornings after a night out. I have heard about "The Diner" from my flatmates, but I finally made it there last weekend with two friends visiting from the US. The menu had all the requirements: french toast, omelettes, hash browns, steak and eggs (seriously, but the "steak" turns out to be chicken in the description...), and breakfast combinations (a la Denny's). We went all out ordering all of the above, minus the steak and eggs. For the most part everything was as we hoped. Only real complaints were that the hash browns turned out to be a sad little disc of processed potato and the coffee showed up after the meal. However, on the whole, the food was good and satisfied our craving for big American breakfast. I must say that the portions were not full excessive American size, but that's probably for the best... And if you need a hot cup of coffee to complete your breakfast scene, my friends claimed it was some of the best they had in India.
After breakfast, we walked off our huge meal in Lodi Garden across the street and sat in the sun watching the local families enjoy their weekend. Definitely a recommend lazy Delhi Sunday.
