Lonely Planet review for Mavalli Tiffin Rooms

This legendary joint, commonly called MTR, has been feeding Bengaluru its stock South Indian fare such as masala dosas for more than seven decades. The queues can get long during lunch hours.

Indulge in grand cuisine of Bangalore

    arti_naved recommends this,

If you are have not been invited for a wedding in Bangalore to see the spread and taste the diverse flavours, never mind - step into MTR! make sure to starve yourself from the night before and be prompt by landing up by 12:30! the food is served and it keeps coming and it keeps getting better...just when you think you are going to burst...another surprise follows! an age old place with a high reputation for quality, hygene and tradition. MTR is an international brand now with its packaged foods available all over...if you need to digest the food (whish for sure you will need to) take a walk in Lalbagh Gardens - you will surely remember the moment forever

for the best south indian food.

    mssthirdeye recommends this,

Yes MTR is the best for south Indian food, and when in bangalore Masala dosa is a must, and you should taste here, even it means waiting for a seat,
It still houses in the old building near lalbagh,
And if you get a seat in the special room, then you are served in Silver plates and silver glasses.
Not only Dosas, the other food like rava idly, poliyogere , the MTR coffee and not to omit the sweets.
In Bangalore, then its got to be MTR
