Lonely Planet review
Joining the Zodiac craze that has taken Iceland’s adventure scene by storm, Ocean Safari offers RIB (rigid inflatable boat) tours of the beautiful bay. As the boats are quite small, it is possible to zoom up close to the fjord’s islets to check out the local colonies of birds and seals. Tours are around two hours and depart at 10am and 2pm; from June to August there’s a third trip at 8pm as well. Custom tours are also available for those who want to disembark on one of the small islands for some serious birding (prices start at Ikr50,000 for the captained boat).
