Skogafoss

Hi
I will have about 5-6 nights in Iceland at the beginning of April. Unfortunately I don't think I have time for Dentifoss and to see the highlights of the south coast. This trip is all about photography so will there be much foot traffic through skogafoss this time of year.
Cheers

During our trip to the Western Fjords we plan to take with us a very small potable stove to boil water for coffee/soup/ tea etc. . The one I have in mind uses Hexamine type solid fuel tablets. Are these avaiable in Iceland and if so would we be able to buy them in Keflavik area (as when we arrive we aim to get our hire car and by pass Reykjavik and drive straight there) Many thanks

My husband and I will be van camping in Iceland from Sept. 1 - 11th, and I could use some help with campground suggestions and some itinerary planning.

We're crossing our fingers for good weather to allow a trip into Landmannaulager the first couple of days, then after that will spend a couple of days working our way south and east to Skaftafell. We'll be camping at the park one night and plan to hike the following day - and would like to continue north-eastward on the Ring Road to camp after…

Hi,
I'm looking for recommendations for reading material for my upcoming visit. I'm open to many possibilities, but perhaps some sort of contemporary fiction would be best, translated to english, and small enough not to load down my pack too much. Also, any suggestions where to most easily find these books?
By the way, I'm just finishing up a book called "Iceland's Bell" by Halldor Laxness. It's a historical novel, set in the late 17th century. It might be a little dense and dry for some…

We will be visiting for a very short time.. 2 full days and travel on either side. We will be renting a campervan to maximize our budget/sights seen. I REALLY want to make it to Jökulsárlón, and realize it's quite the drive from Reykiyavik. Other than the glacier lagoon, i want to see a natural hot spring, waterfalls, etc (the usual)
My question is if anyone has experience with over nighting in a camper van.. where to park it? We want to make the absolute most out of our two days so early…

I'm spending a week in Iceland in August and stopping at several other geothermal pools: Lake Myvtan and Geysir and wondered whether the Blue Lagoon is so special as not to miss. I've got time on my way to Reykjvavik or could also do it at the end of my trip around the country. For those who have traveled the country, what's your opinion? Thanks.

Hi all,

My husband and I and our 19-month-old twins are doing a 3-day stopover this July in Iceland on the way back from a trip in England. We are staying in Reykjavik for all three nights -- basically with twin toddlers, I felt like it would be easier to have one spot at night then having to figure out cribs and such at multiple places. We'll have a rental car as well and the plan is to venture out during the day so we can take in all that we can.

We have two full days, and I was planning on…

Hi Everyone,

I'm heading to Iceland with a bunch of friends in August for a week. We'll be based in Reykyavik, as most of us will ne running the marathon. I bought the Lonely Planet Iceland guidebook and would like to do all of their recommended day trips - Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon, Snafellsnes Peninsula, South Coast, Borsmork, Landmannalaugar, and Jokusarlon. I have a few questions regarding these day trips -

1) We won't have time to do all of the above, so out of the above list, if you…

My wife and I are looking for 2 more people to join us on a 3-day photo guided trip in Iceland.
Sometime between Sept 18-30.

There's a great Photo Guide company that does 1-3 Day trips that are tailored to photographers that want to get the best shots possible at certain designations (Northern Lights, sunsets, waterfalls, etc).
They also avoid all the hoards of tourists and make the trips very personal and tailored to getting those epic photograph shots!!

The price is per carload (4 people), so…
