Hello- starting a ring road drive on Sunday. Can anyone advise if they know if there is anywhere near the airport or closer to city where one could buy a sim card and get groceries/food/water for supplies?
Could someone please tell me if there is any accommodation between Hrauneyjar Guesthouse and Hólaskjól-Higlandcenter? I have a tent, but am just plotting on my map places I can stop if the weather gets bad etc.
I have looked up the Landmannalaugar Hut but it appears its quite a ways off the F208 requiring a possible hike? Is this right? I've also notice don Google Earth a hut called Glaðheimar?

Earlier I took some photo's and then put my camera on top of the camper van, forgot and then drove off. An incredibly thoughtless thing to do.
We went back to look for it but there was no sign of it so I'm assuming someone picked it up. Maria was our guide and host and welcomed us Into her home as old friends and not tourists. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. We had an amazing ride and made a new friend. It was great to support a real person on a real farm doing real work…
Hi Everyone !
I'm planning to travel to Iceland for the first time this winter, end of December, beginning of January.
And as I want to make it even greater I'm planning on doing it alone.
I feel super excited but a bit lost in the same time. So many questions.
My plan is to book about 10 to 14 days in the country, starting of course by discovering Reykjavik (probably gonna spend New Year's Eve over there), and then go for few days on the roads. Probably not a good idea to rent a car alone…
