We are going to Iceland for six days in September and are looking for any information that we can get regarding places to see, sleep, eat etc.
Day 1 arrive in Reykjavik, Day 2 head towards Vik, Day 3 head towards Hoefn, Day 4 head toweards Skogar, Day 5 head towards Stykkisholmur area and Day 6 back to Reykjavik.
We are renting a car so any hints would be appreciated.
I'm wondering how are the road conditions (F905 and F88) to access Askja site in August: to Dreki hut first and then all the way to the car park to Viti pools ?
Is an average 4WD like a Suzuki Vitara enough or not recommended? If not what could be our options ?
I'm taking my cousin to Iceland on a photography trip, and the only available time for him is December. I went in April a while back and drove through lots of snowstorms, so I'm expecting quite a bit of that and VERY short days, but what else should we prepare for?

I've read that wifi spots are available in towns, but -- again -- I'm recalling countless moments of…
I'm interested to hear some thoughts on the Blue Lagoon. Is it worth the visit? The crowds and the fact that it is man-made kind of turn me off. However, the rest of this country has been face-meltingly beautiful.
Thanks for any feedback!
I have two sons, ages 10 and 6. We have 7 nights in Iceland. 2 nights in Reykjavik and 5 nights in Selfoss. Any suggestions on what we should do while we are there? My boys love swimming, hiking and tennis. They aren't good at long car rides.
Does somebody have recommendation about place for camping and day hiking/trekking?
We will visit Iceland from 5th to 21st August. And I will go around Iceland by rental car ( not 4x4).
I would like to enjoy day hiking/trekking from campgrounds. I already found some nice campgrounds as below.
Do you have any recommendation about other campgrounds? And could you advice day hiking/trekking routes near campgrounds? If you also share some map, gps or websites about themI would…
