Overpriced and very boring!
silviaplanchett1 does not recommend this,
I can't believe their pricing when so many other bakeries are available with in walking distance and with similar or better quality, ambiance and selection.

On my last day in Reykjavik I thought to buy some pastries to take with me onto the plane for my flight back to the US. None of the pastries have prices tags near them, but for 3 things it came out to approx $13 USD (Oct 2010). I also bought some chocolates and jellies to bring back as presents and while those had prices clearly labeled, the man behind the counter rang them up as almost double the price. This meant these not even bite-sized treats were over $2 USD each. I asked about the discrepancy after my card ran through and he was rather impatient with me (sort of a "if you're too poor you shouldn't be here" attitude). He shrugged and said that's what the register said, they must've raised the prices and haven't changed the labels yet. He then went back and checked with someone else, perhaps a manager, they looked at the labels, and he came back and used a calculator to figure out how much he overcharged and gave me the difference back in Kronur (which was rather inconvenient as I was heading home that day and had no more chances to use up the money). Unfortunately, he did the math wrong, I corrected him twice, but he didn't quite get it so I gave up and left, still about $2 short in change. The candies weren't that good either.

Ultra expensive

I agree with Carl, they sell little chocolate square candies that are approximately 2,5 x 2,5 cm square with a thickness of about 1 cm for the ungodly price of 180 kronur about 1,2 Euro each! The service is slow and I also had a table that was on the bouncy side.

Overpriced!
carlmosconi does not recommend this,
My wife and I were in there today and were charged 475 Icelandic kronur($4.30) for hot chocolate and 350 ($3.20) kronur for coffee. This is a rip off cafe with little ambiance and tables that are unbalance and wobble when you place your arm on them. Be warned!
