Open year-round, this lovely apartment hotel offers seven modern apartments, with tasteful furnishings and stocked kitchens. They range in size from petite to sprawling, with each lavish penthouse apartment in a category of its own.
Each of the rooms is designed around a central colour - orange, purple etc. Although it sounds a bit kitschy, the design works well in part because of its restrained execution. Each apartment is uniquely furnished with wooden blinds, oriental carpets and the occasional antique furnishing. If you can afford it, book a penthouse apartment. These have high ceilings and boast amazing views over the Reykjavík rooftops to the harbour and mountains beyond. Many repeat visitors stay at the Luna, which gives some indication of its popularity.
