Around 50,000 puffins nest on Lundey and Akurey, two islands just offshore from Reykjavík. Between May and late August you can visit them on the one-hour Puffin Express boat trips, which sail from Reykjavík harbour at 8.30am, 10.30am, 2.30pm and 4.30pm daily.
