  1. A

    Taverna Pireus Rembetiko

Directly opposite the Nagycsarnok (Great Market) at the foot of Liberty Bridge, this place serves reasonably priced and pretty authentic Greek fare. Rembetiko is a folk music school and a style of traditional Greek music; unfortunately, what you’ll hear here is canned.

  2. B

    Görög Udvar

Görög Udvar looks grubby from the outside but inside it's another story; excellent Greek food is served either in its quiet inner courtyard or open restaurant rooms.

  3. Zorba Háza

Housed in a small shopping centre away from loud Rákóczi fejedelem útja, Zorba serves a mix of Greek and Italian food in blue-and-white surroundings.

  4. Görög

In a restored Esterházy mansion, the 'Greek' serves, well, Greek-ish food in pseudo-Hellenic surrounds. It does make for a change from goulash.

  5. Herkules Taverna

This typically blue-and-white Greek restaurant has a secluded spot with tables overlooking the canal.
