3 and a half days in Budapest

I'm going to be in Budapest for 3 and a half days in Budapest with a friend. There's just a few things I'd like to know a bit more about.

• How exactly do you get from the airport to the city centre? I read on the website that you have to get a shuttle bus to the metro stop and take the metro in. Is that right?

• I've heard that there's a lot to do in Budapest so I would like to be well planned before I go. So it's important for me to know if there are any attractions you'd suggest in Budapest

Budapest or Prague, which is better.

We are in our 50s, interested in general sightseeing, people watching, cafes, castles, river cruises etc. Which city should we spend longer in, for a weeks break during a longish Europe stay. Please reply if you have spent time in both cities.

Looking for a good bar for a quiet pint in Budapest.

Will be in Budapest later this year. I'm looking for a nice bar for a quiet pint.If they serve food - great. But not a place where they expect you to order food as a matter of course. Thanks for any suggestions.

Budapest: live music

I'm in Budapest from 11 jan till 15 jan 2015 and would like to visit one evening a live music event.
My online searching found many interesting events until end of 2014 and starting again after 20 jan.,
so it looks really bad luck.
Any kind of musical event will do, as long as I'm able to sit comfortably.

Memento park- preserving communist history

A friend of mine recently went to Memento Park on the outskirts of Budapest- which is where the Hungarians brought many Communist-era statues. A good way to remove them from the public space, without pretending nothing ever happened...

I've never been myself, although it's been on my list for a while, so I'm glad i was able to see the place through his eyes through his trip report. Hopefully you'll enjoy it too...
