Getting there & away
There are very frequent buses to/from Budapest (1450Ft, 2½ hours, 120km), Baja (544Ft, one hour, 45km) and Solt (425Ft, 45 minutes, 35km), a horse-breeding centre with many riding and carriage-driving opportunities. There are also buses to Szeged (1450Ft, three hours, 115km, four daily), Kecskemét (1450Ft, 2½ hours, 115km, three daily) and Székesfehérvár (2780Ft, 2¾ hours, 120km, two daily).
Kalocsa is at the end of a rail spur to Kiskőrös (346Ft, 50 minutes, 30km, four daily). From Kiskőrös you can make connections to Budapest (1420Ft, three hours, 140km). A very slow (2¼-hour) narrow-gauge train links Kiskőrös with the smaller of Kecskemét's two train stations, Kecskemét KK.
