This is Eger's silver-service restaurant. But the 'White-Deer Hunters' Farm', as its name literally translates, with its game specialities and cellar setting, is really a place to enjoy in autumn and winter.

    Fantastic dining experience in a hunting themed restaurant

    This is my joint favourite restaurant in Eger, sitting just on the edge of the town centre. It is not easy to spot from the road but it doesn't need to be, it's reputation means that people who want to find it will.
    The first thing that hits you as you enter is the decor. It is a hunting themed restaurant with dozens of trophies mounted on the walls. There are even dining chairs made from antlers and covered in sheepskins.
    The service is excellent. You are met as you enter and your coats taken from you and hung in the cloak room then you are shown to a table of your choice. If you require a little privacy there is a small room with private booths just off the main reastaurant at the end of the bar. There is also a private room with arched ceiling for private functions. The waiters are efficient and polite, the down side is that there is only one who speaks great English but the menu is written in several languages so ordering isn't a problem. There is a good choice of food available with a tendency towards wild game. My personal favourite is the wild piglet soup to start and saddle of venison for my main course ( I can't usually manage a dessert).There is also a good wine list and an extensive choice of palinkas (Hungarian spirit). When your food arrives you won't be disappointed with the presentation or quantity.
    In the evenings there is a pianist to add to the atmosphere.
    Overall, the Feher Szarvas offers excellent value for money. It offers something different in a small town with a great deal of competition.
    For some time now they have also been offering a 20% discount all day on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
