Train
Debrecen is served by around 20 trains daily from Nyugati (and sometimes Keleti) station in Budapest (2360Ft, 220km) via Szolnok (1420Ft, 1¾ hours, 120km), including nine 2½-hour expresses daily. Cities to the north and northwest - Nyíregyháza (430Ft, 45 minutes, 50km), Tokaj (890Ft, 1½ hours, 80km) and Miskolc (1420Ft, 2½ hours, 135km) - can best be reached by train. For Eger (1212Ft, three hours, 120km), take the train to Füzesabony and change. For points south, use the bus or a bus/train combination.
Daily international departures from Debrecen to Valea lui Mihai in Romania leave at 7.15am and 2.40pm.
