Lonely Planet review for Hospital in the Rock

Part of the Castle Hill caves network, this newly opened attraction was used extensively during the siege of Budapest during WWII. It contains original medical equipment as well as some 70 wax figures and is visited on a guided half-hour tour. More interesting is the hour-long ‘full tour‘ (3000/1500/7000Ft), which includes a walk through a Cold War–era nuclear bunker.

    Fascinating and scary

    vtnynvvt recommends this,

Definitely worth a look. Really gives you a sense of how things were during WWII. Also, makes you thankful you weren't there.

Freaky, horrifying, fantastic, wonderful. I'm still shocked.

    albrumci recommends this,

It's a hospital under the Castle, in the cave system, wax figures shows the times when it was used: WWII, revolutions.. Even the machines could be seen! Huge soviet monsters from the cold war.. The whole museum is amazing.
