Pata Negra
The ‘Black Foot’ – it’s a special kind of Spanish cured ham – is a lovely Spanish tapas bar and restaurant at the (almost) top of trendy Ráday utca; the floor tiles and ceiling fans really help create a mood à la valenciana. There’s good cheese and an excellent wine selection, too.

Artesano
This is an excellent choice for a stylish but affordable meal of tapas or more substantial Spanish dishes such as the cold Iberian plate (2500Ft) or paella (2900Ft), which comes in various guises. It’s a wonderful find in an area overrun by low-quality tourist dives.
