Sorry, I forgot to write it is downtown, between Astoria and Ferenciek tere metro stations!

I found another Auguszt in downtown Budapest! It is beautiful, giant chandelier and Dürer on the wall 5 meters high. I had excellent cake and coffee! Dont miss it if you are in Budapest. They claim to be the oldest patisserie family in Hungary. I dont know, but the cakes were outstanding!

It bills itself as the city's oldest patisserie.  It has three branches, of which I've only been to the one in central Pest, all presumably served by its own bakery.  

One of the three most important things about the Auguszt is its adherence to the classics of Hungarian pastry making; it turns out the closest things you will find to traditional Hungarian patisserie in the center of town.

While there are newer confections in the pastry case as well -- things assembled entirely out of mousses and air -- its heart is in the old cakes and new takes on the old instincts.  An important place to have around...

The owner was there herself (5th generation), she speaks good English, and was very kind and polite to us. Helping us with a lot of things, such as recommending good restaurants.
