Hey, my girlfriend and I are going to visit Hungary and Slovakia in summer. We land in Budapest and want to explore both countries untill we fly back from Bratislava. We only have a week en plan to travel by foot, bus and train. Are there any things we shouldn't miss? Any help would be awesome!
i needed to take a taxi around Budapest due to time constraints. . I also stayed at Ibis Styles a bit out of town on Pest side but very nice helpful staff.
re: taxi beware of Sunday my return from the Palace museum included many extra fees ie Sunday Palace and not calling ahead
I am going to be in Budapest for 3 nights in a few weeks, I dont know anyone in the city. I would like to stay somewhere where I can meet people, but I worry a hostel may be too much of a 'party' atmosphere. (I am 30)). Essentially I would like to stay in a hotel or private room in a hostel where there are day tours planned and also maybe a few night activities where I can sign up. Any suggestions?
I'm looking at things to do this summer and came across the website 'Workaway' which seems like a good idea for me to go into. I want to volunteer for about 3 or 4 weeks in July to August and came across an advert for a hostel in Budapest. They're looking for 'party staff' who basically, in their words, get the party going! I'm wondering if anyone has any experience in this and whether they enjoyed it? Whether it's just visiting Budapest and what the nightlife is like there, or…
I'm very excited to be visiting Budapest in about 2 weeks, so I wanted to ask and see if anyone has any recommendations for vegetarian-friendly restaurants to visit, or grocery markets/ways to eat as a vegetarian in Budapest. I don't eat chicken, fish, beef, pork, or any meats but I do eat eggs and cheese. Also, I'm not concerned about the restaurants serving meat items as long as there are healthy, filling options available for vegetarians like myself.
Thank you all very much!…
I'll be traveling to Budapest for a trip in a few days.
Been looking up lake Balaton and Etyek and they seem to be delightful places to visit.
Would they be a good place to check out? Do you think I'll have time to see as much as there is to see in Budapest while also taking this day trip? Would it be easy to do both of these in a day or better to just choose one? And how easy are they to access without a car?
I might have to be in Budapest for 2 weeks in September.
I am well familiar with Air B&B, but i was wondering if there are any similar, local ways of finding a place for that period.
I'll be arriving in Budapest airport on a Sunday evening in July around 9.30pm, into Terminal 2B I believe and I'd like to catch the bus and metro into the centre of the city and using the 72hr transport card to do so.
Just wondering, as I'll be arriving in the evening, and unsure on how long it will take to transfer through the airport, even though I should have only carry on luggage and will be travelling from another Schengen country, although I don't have an EU passport, will it still…
