Meet your guide at Fovam Ter in central Budapest in the morning. Your Hungarian culinary experience starts with a brief walk through the Great Market Hall, where your guide will teach you about local foods. You’ll discover the staple ingredients that serve as the base of many Hungarian meals, some of which have been used for millennia!
Then, head to a professional kitchen for your hands-on cooking class, during which you’ll learn about the art of traditional Hungarian cooking and cuisine, whose origins lie in the first settlers of the Carpathian basin.
Learn cooking techniques as you prepare several Hungarian dishes. You’ll work side-by-side with kitchen chefs who’ll show how Hungarians use basic ingredients and spices such as paprika. The day's menu features traditional Hungarian dishes based on seasonal ingredients (see sample menu below; vegetarian and other special diets are welcomed).
