Getting there & away
Direct buses link Aggtelek with Budapest (2410Ft, four to five hours, 195km) and Miskolc (665Ft, 1½ hours, 52km). They leave Jósvafő (stopping at Aggtelek about 10 minutes later) for Budapest twice daily at 5.30am and 2.45pm (with an additional bus at 4.10pm Friday to Sunday), and for Miskolc at 4.30am and 11.30am Monday to Friday, at 5.45am Saturday and at 11.30am Sunday.
Aggtelek can also be reached from Miskolc (430Ft, 1¼ hours, 49km, five daily) by train - you want the one heading for Tornanádaska. The Jósvafő-Aggtelek train station is some 14km east of Jósvafő (and 20km from Agg- telek village); a local bus meets each of the trains to take you to either town.
