From San Pedro Sula, the ‘El Mochito’ bus passes through Peña Blanca – get off there for hotels in town, or catch a second bus toward La Guama and hotels along the lake (US$0.50, 10 minutes, every 20 minutes). For D&D and Balneario y Centro Turístico Paradise, stay on the Mochito bus past Los Naranjos to the signed access road. The last bus back to San Pedro Sula leaves at 4:30pm.

From the CA-5 Hwy, ask the bus driver to let you off at the desvío (turnoff) to Peña Blanca – it’s just north of La Guama and very easy to miss. From there, buses to Peña Blanca run until 5pm. To get to D&D or Balneario y Centro Turístico Paradise, take a cab from Peña Blanca (US$0.25 to the access road, US$1 to their front gates).

To access Parque Nacional Santa Bárbara, take a bus from Peña Blanca to San Luis Planes (US$0.80, one to 1½ hours, 10:30am only) or to Los Andes.
