Hacienda San Lucas
One of Copán's best hotels also offers one of its most memorable dining experiences. Call a day in advance and make a request and the chefs will do their best to accommodate; wood-fired roast chicken, beef, tamales, green salad and fresh tortillas frequently figure in. The view is amazing, including a sliver of the main ruins - come early for a glass of wine and sunset over Templo 21.

La Llama del Bosque
From the outside, this place looks forgettable. But eat one meal here and you're likely to remember it for a long time. The menu is extensive and varied with dishes that are delicious, beautifully presented, abundant and cheap. That combo is hard to find. Add the attractive dining area, including a leafy patio, and you've got a remarkable meal.

Tunkul Restaurant & Bar
You wouldn't expect it from the outside, but the dining area in this longtime restaurant and bar is quite large and, with a leafy interior courtyard, stone floors and wood tables, downright outdoorsy. (Well, almost.) The food is tasty and the portions large, and there are a number of vegetarian options. Drink specials and a lively crowd make this a good bar, too.
