Lonely Planet review for Chiminike
Chiminike is Tegucigalpa’s excellent children’s museum. Situated about 7km south of downtown, it caters to kids of all ages, from a peaceful infant/nursing area to adolescent-level displays on Maya history. It’s refreshingly frank: the area about the human body has exhibits on the hows and whys of farting, vomiting, sneezing and body odor, while a crawl-through digestive tract starts at the mouth and ends with a slide through an oversized rectum.

Wonderful Museum for children of ALL ages!
pamydosy recommends this,
Our mission group has gone to Chiminike twice! The first time, the teens were tired and decided to "act like they were having fun" because they had no choice but to go there. Within about 10 minutes, one girl said, "I'm not acting any more! This is fun!" It was so much fun, that the teens asked to go back this year on our day off! Very interactive for all ages! The extra cost for the "Crazy House" is well worth it! We took a group of 12 people, plus the crazy house for less than $40! Better than any children's museum in the states!
Good for: All ages!
