Lonely Planet review

This terrific Argentinean grill has much more than just meat - and is much more than just a restaurant, for that matter.

First things first: a long lunch and dinner menu includes sandwiches (several veggie options available), thick wedges of quiche (spinach, eggplant, broccoli, Lorraine), empanadas (chicken, beef or spinach) and of course excellent cuts of meat, in 8- or 12-oz portions that are melt-in-your-mouth tender. Judging from the name (la milonga is an Argentinean dance) it's no surprise that music and dance also figure prominently here: folk singer Karla Lara got her start here and Guillermo Anderson has played here too. Friday nights are for tango, including a short class for beginners. Movies are played Wednesdays.
