Tegucigalpa Entertainment

  1. Bamboo

Formerly the Hipa Hipa, this is still Tegucigalpa's most exclusive nightclub - don't even think of wearing sandals and a T-shirt. The doors are manned by beefy bouncers, while inside, the capital's young and rich and beautiful cram the large sunken dance floor. Expect drink specials from Wednesday to Friday, like free national beers or one-lempira rum and vodka; Saturdays are the most crowded, and occasionally have performances or special events.

  2. O-Bar

Close to Colonia Palmira hotels and the Peace Corps office, this sleek modern bar and club sees a mixed crowd of foreigners and locals. Low round tables stand in the front rooms and around the edges of the bar area, while a small dance floor pulses with black light and laser machines. Friday is Ladies Night, while Saturday usually sees open bar for rum drinks, 2-for-1 tequila and beer specials.
