Pizzería Bella Italia
The friendly Italian owners spent almost a decade in Santa Rosa de Copán before moving to Tela to be near the beach. Pizza here is terrific - from personal to 16-piece gigantes (extra large) - but the specialty is the panzerotti , a variation of calzone stuffed with salami, ham, mushrooms and more.

Tuty's
This gleaming air-cooled pastry and licuado (smoothie) shop and the hot cramped chicken place next door are one and the same - a culinary Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. The chicken place serves up good greasy meals: the breakfast and lunch specials are a steal. Just sit somewhere where the industrial-strength fans hit you, so you don't sweat off everything you just ate. A licuado from next door also helps.
