Hello wonderful people,

I'm planning a trip which will be mostly on foot through Honduras from the border with Guatemala at El Corinto to the border with Nicaragua at El Espino.

The route will go through these locations: El Corinto - Puerto Cortes - San Pedro Sula - Villanueva - Recta Yojoa - La Guama - Taulabe - Siguartepeque - Comoayagua - Tamara - Tegucigalpa - San Lucas - El Espino.

I'm looking for details of first hand experience travelling through these places, especially if anyone has…

Travelling with my fiance to CA for 10 nights and need some help choosing between Guatemala and either Honduras or Belize. My plans below are flexible, so if you think its too jampacked for 10 days lemme know bc I'm open to change. o avoid losing time travelling b/w locations, open to flying to save time.

Little more background: We are in are early 30s, adventurous, want to get a taste of culture/history (Guatemala) but also get some jungle adventure/scuba/snorkel as well (Roatan…

Hi all,

I'll be finishing my trip in Honduras in Copan Ruinas - but my flight out from San Pedro Sula is around 8am.

Firstly, I understand crime is a real problem in SPS - should I be nervous to get in there the afternoon before and stay in an overnight hotel for my early flight? Or am I better off chartering a taxi from Copan Ruinas at around 2-3am?

Hi,

I'm looking to get from Punta Gorda to Utila next week.
There was a lot of great info on this thread:
https://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/forums/americas-central-america/topics/placencia-dangriga-to-utila?page=1#post_21619950

Looks like the best option may be to take a ferry from Punta Gorda, Belize > Puerto Barrios, Guatemala.
Then take a shuttle bus from Puerto Barrios, Guatemala > La Ceiba, Honduras.
Then the ferry to Utila.

I have a few specific questions:
* Does anyone have…

Hi all,
I am travelling to Copan tomorrow (5th May ) from Guatemala.
I then plan to re-enter Guatemala up on the Carribean coast. I plan to stay a couple of nights in Omoa on the way.
Is this a great idea, and if so, any reccomendations on transport to Omoa from Copan and places to stay in Omoa.
Thanks in anticipation
Keith

Hey

I am traveling around in Nicaragua by the moment. I want to go to Honduras next week but I have read that it is not a good idea to travel alone as a girl. I want to see the copan ruins, lagoon and a reserva. I am 24 years old and come from Denmark. Are there someone who could be interesting in traveling around in Honduras for a week?

Kind regard

Trine

Hi there,
I found different information about how to get from Utila to Roatan / Roatan to Utila.
We want to travel to both islands in July, so does anyone know:
what's (at the moment) the best and cheapest way to get from one island to the other? And how much ist it (2 persons)? :)

Also: If you've been to the islands: which did you like better and why? Should we choose one of them and stick to it? (we travel there only for diving!) | Any recommendations on cheap lodgings? (Roatan seems pretty…

Hi everyone,
I'm planning to go on Utila during June to August to make my rescue and my Divemaster. I have sent emails in dive shop on the island and they told me to book in advance because summer is a great period and they cannot guarantee me a spot for the course. Is it so popular that you can't choose you dive shop when you arrive in the island ?

And I'm searching the best dive shop :) so if you have some experience, I'll take them for sure !
Thank you very much
