Quick shuttle pick up from Xela to San Pedro La Laguna

    mike7688 recommends this,

The shuttle came to pick me up from Zona 1 right on time. The initial ride out of Xela was very comfortable with only one other passenger. It stopped about 30 minutes outside of Xela and transferred us to another completely over packed van with most passengers heading to Panajachel. Around three hours later they dropped us off at A mile Marker at a turnoff heading to San Pedro and didn't tell us where the next van would pick us up. We waited quite some time with 3 Chicken buses stopping to pick up passengers to San Pedro and the villages along the way. They tried to get us to take their buses which was tempting but after 3 calls we finally were picked up and were packed in another sardine van where I had to sit on the floor for the final hour.

We finally got there intact after a rough ride through the mountains and dropped off right at the dock to Panajachel, which was only 3-4 blocks from my hostel.

Even thoe the ride was a little rough it was expected since it's how most shuttle rides go in Guatemala and 15$ was the best price in Xela to Lake Atitlan. They had a very helpful English speaking owner or staff member that helped us along the way over the phone. I had originally had a shuttle set with Monteverde Tours but after booking the shuttle I called the day before my trip and they told me they could only take me to Panjachel. They were $20 and Adrenalina Tours wanted $25-30. So I would recommend this company if only for best price since in Guatemala your bound to run into problems and delays, even with the most expensive of shuttles.
