I am a single woman in my thirties travelling to Guatemala next month for a week. I happily booked my tickets and made big plans and then I came across a zillion travel advisories on how Guatemala is not safe. I come from South Asia and speak and understand no Spanish. But I have done a lot of travelling (just not in this part of the world.). I wrote to a dozen odd tour operators asking for customised packages but no one has responded.
Would be grateful if someone could advise re travel agency…

Anyone know if I can get almond milk in Guatemala (Antigua and/or Lake Atitlan area)? Perhaps at a specialty grocery shop that caters to ex-pats? I'd like to not have to haul it in my suitcase.
Thanks in advance!
I'm co-hosting a yoga and ceremony retreat at Villa Sumaya (near Santa Cruz de La Laguna) on Lake Atitlan and we are looking for a musician (strings or hand drum)to play healing music during some of our sessions/ceremonies. Please contact me if you know of anyone who might be interested in some soulful work. Gracias!
Hello! I am trying to lock down some solid information, but am getting mixed answers-

hi all, thinking of doing the paragliding at Lake Atticlan as looks amazing. My Insurance Policy won't cover adventure sports like paragliding and unable to add it as an option. Just wondering if anyone has done paragliding before: how 'dangerous' actually is it? And if you've done it in Guatemala - was it worth it?

I was reading a lot and exploring the map and I am finding dificult to find a way of going to the main cities without having to fly there.
So my questions are:
1) Ona 13 day trip, how many days would you be at Belize?
Hi all, in lago de atitlan at the moment and wishing to travel to Semuc in a couple of days and wishing to gain any information on the current protest situation and whether the road is open to it?!
Any current information would be greatly appreciated!!
I only have limited time to visit Guatemala, arriving in Flores from Caye Caulker/Belize City around midday on a Tuesday and flying out of Guatemala City midday that Friday. The flight from Flores to Guate City is 1 hour and departs a couple times a day.
With so little time, I need to decide whether to choose one of two options:
