Templo de las Inscripciones
Compared to Copán or Quiriguá, there are relatively few inscriptions on buildings at Tikal. The exception is the Templo de las Inscripciones, 1.2km southeast of the Gran Plaza. On the rear of the 12m-high roofcomb is a long inscription; the sides and cornice of the roofcomb bear glyphs as well. The inscriptions give us the date AD 766.
