hello fellow travelers! I am headed to Guatemala for 12 days in August and I have a pretty good idea of what I want to do (hopefully it isn't too ambitious with only 10 full days). However, I have two route ideas....if anyone has any thoughts on which route is better or suggestions to my itinerary that would be lovely! Thank you!!
day 1: fly into Guatemala city.
day 2: bus from Guatemala city to Panajachel. Go to Atitlan Nature Reserve
day 3: Explore Atitlan and surrounding villages. Stay in…
I am a single woman in my thirties travelling to Guatemala next month for a week. I happily booked my tickets and made big plans and then I came across a zillion travel advisories on how Guatemala is not safe. I come from South Asia and speak and understand no Spanish. But I have done a lot of travelling (just not in this part of the world.). I wrote to a dozen odd tour operators asking for customised packages but no one has responded.
Would be grateful if someone could advise re travel agency…
i plan a trip to guatemala and mexico , just want to know what bus to take and the price for the travel from guatemala to mexico
and if there is a check at the border to enter to mexico
Anyone know if I can get almond milk in Guatemala (Antigua and/or Lake Atitlan area)? Perhaps at a specialty grocery shop that caters to ex-pats? I'd like to not have to haul it in my suitcase.
Thanks in advance!
I'm co-hosting a yoga and ceremony retreat at Villa Sumaya (near Santa Cruz de La Laguna) on Lake Atitlan and we are looking for a musician (strings or hand drum)to play healing music during some of our sessions/ceremonies. Please contact me if you know of anyone who might be interested in some soulful work. Gracias!
Hello! I am trying to lock down some solid information, but am getting mixed answers-
Is there a bus that goes from San Pedro Sula, Honduras to Flores, Guatemala? It looks like Transportes Fuente del Norte might be the answer, but I am having trouble finding a solid schedule.
According to this morning's Prensa Libre, Semuc Champey has been reopened to tourists as of today. Here is a link to the news report: http://www.prensalibre.com/economia/semuc-champey-reabre-este-viernes-para-turistas
hi all, thinking of doing the paragliding at Lake Atticlan as looks amazing. My Insurance Policy won't cover adventure sports like paragliding and unable to add it as an option. Just wondering if anyone has done paragliding before: how 'dangerous' actually is it? And if you've done it in Guatemala - was it worth it?
Last year I travelled to Nicarágua and I just felt in love with it so this year I want to get to know more of Central America. My plan is to go to Guatemala and Belize. I already have my flights booked and I will get 13 complete days (plus 2 days to travel). I was reading a lot and exploring the map and I am finding dificult to find a way of going to the main cities without having to fly there.
So my questions are:
1) Ona 13 day trip, how many days would you be at Belize?
Hi all, in lago de atitlan at the moment and wishing to travel to Semuc in a couple of days and wishing to gain any information on the current protest situation and whether the road is open to it?!
Any current information would be greatly appreciated!!
