Lonely Planet review
A coffee plantation for much of the 20th century, this estate was remade as Pana's loveliest hotel in the 1970s. Located on the lake shore 1.5km northwest of the town center, it's a rambling, semi-colonial affair surrounded by manicured tropical gardens.
The 65 rooms all have lake-facing balconies; decorations go heavy on religious imagery, wood carvings and wrought iron. A restaurant, bar and lakefront pool with killer volcano views ensure you'll never want to leave the premises.
Our independent authors have visited Hotel Atitlán and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Panajachel.
