Coming in off the road through the garage door is perhaps an inauspicious arrival, but crossing the verdant cobbled courtyard, things very quickly get a whole lot better in this beautiful little hotel.
This long, narrow colonial house has class written all over it. There are more sitting areas, lounges and dining rooms than there are bedrooms, all fitted out very comfortably with sofas, reading lamps and fireplaces. The rooms themselves feature a good mix of modern and heritage styles. Giant-screen TVs sit atop hand carved cedar cabinets. There isn't much heritage style going on in the bathrooms, except for maybe the antique-styled tile work. All the other fittings are super-modern. If you need a bit of exercise, there's a long, skinny lap pool out in the middle patio - good for cooling off, not great for splashing around.
