Lonely Planet review
You've got to hand it to the Hilton - it's a fully self-contained world. It can actually be fun to walk through the complex, even if you're not staying, and just marvel at the lengths people will go to in order to not leave their hotel.
Bars, saunas, gyms, pools, restaurants, you name it - they've got the lot here. Rooms are comfortable but the 'Tower' building is better value than the main wing, where the accommodation at the lower end of the scale can be drab, sometimes a bit musty, and (so travellers have reported) in need of a touch up. The location is super: at the quieter end of Tumon Bay, beside Ypao Beach, away from the madness of Hotel Row crowds. The Hilton, unlike the other resorts, has no beach of its own, but it does have a big and fancy chapel, perfect for marrying that special someone you've just met in the Tree Bar (that's the Hilton's circular, open-air, thatched-roof bar overlooking the ocean).
